Online gallery : From the seaport of Barcelona to Firenze
During the week from April 2nd to April 9th, of 2017, your online art gallery was travelling in the Mediterranean sea through Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Rome, then, La Spezia and Florence (Firenze). It was a week of drawing and painting in these various cities with the Costa Croisières company (aboard Costa Diadema). Isabelle, Philippe and I, put down our sketchbooks and our portable easels in various places of these cities of Catalonia, from the Ligurian coast to the centre of Tuscany, often to seize an impression, sometimes to paint in few hours only, what a classic building or street brings us to feel.
Aboard the boat, passing from Spain to Italy by the Gulf of Bonifacio, between the Corsican coast and the Sardinia one – here where was born the idea of creating your online gallery in 2015 – we foresee the drafting of the next technical articles – the recipe of the online gallery – with a predilection to tell you about the drawing. Despite decades of proclamation of the “death of painting”, this artistic practice seems more alive than ever.
Indeed, drawing is a language, unconventional as writing, made of graphic signs, ideas and combinations of lines that can delimit surfaces and express feelings.
” … By leaving the sheet of the drawing, we can still hear the smells that continue … “
